Poor guys....

I was studying earlier when I came across 'gynecomastia'. I knew what it was, but never actually seen one. I have never seen pictures of it, much less see it with my own eyes. So I decided to wiki it. This came out.

My first responds was:

*speechless* ....................................
ohhh... hahahahahahahahaha!!!
ermm... *cough cough* maybe I shouldn't laugh.. but this is kinda funny...hahhaha....

So I was being 'inquisitive', and went to youtube in hopes of 'learning' more about this disease (actually I intended to have more laughs).
And I saw a video that changed my mind set. It was really cruel of me to laugh at something like this. It may not be a fatal disease, but it is not a laughable matter either. And even if I wasn't actually laughing in the faces of guys who has it, but I still felt that I was being evil.
I'm a medical student, and will graduate as a doctor. I should have known better.

Simple signs to recognize a stroke


Here's a story that commonly happens --- Some people wouldn't even know that they are actually having a stroke before it's too late.

Jane (name changed), was having BBQ with her husband and friends when she stumbled and fell. It was just a little fall, and she reassured everyone that she was fine and there was no need for the paramedics to be called. She said that it was just a little trip because she had new shoes on. Although Jane appeared a bit shaken, but she continue to enjoy the rest of her afternoon.

Later that day, Jane's husband called up everyone and informing that Jane had been taken to the hospital. She passed away at 6PM.

Jane had a stroke at the BBQ party. If anyone had known how to identify these simple signs of stroke, she might still be alive. Of course in some cases, if stroke victims got to the hospital a bit later, the person ends up bed ridden instead.

Friends, family or even bystander can easily recognize a stroke by asking these :

1. SMILE : Ask the person to smile. See if his/her smile is crooked.

2. TALK : Ask the person to talk and speak a simple sentence coherently.
Eg. "The weather is good today."


3. RAISE : Ask the person to raise both of his/her arms.

4. TONGUE : Ask the person to stick out his/her tongue.


If that person has any difficulties in doing any of task 1,2,3 and if his/her tongue is crooked to one side, these are signs of a stroke.

~ A neurologist said that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours, he can reverse the effect of the stroke.

This part is for the victim himself/herself.

If you :

1. Feel a sudden numbness or weakness in face, arm/legs...especially in one side of the body,

2. Feel a sudden confusion, difficulties in understanding or speaking,

3. Have sudden trouble in seeing (one eye or both),


4. Feel a sudden dizziness, trouble in walking, lost of balance/coordination,


5. Feel a sudden headache with no other known cause,

If you experience more than one of these symptoms, most probably you're having a stroke. Get help immediately.

God's Amazing Pharmacy

God had left us great clues as to what food help which part of our body.
God's Pharmacy is truly amazing...

Nikmat yg Allah kurniakan kepada manusia tiada bandingannya. So let's always be grateful for all that God has given us. This is a reminder for everyone, and most important, a reminder to myself.


A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.


A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All o f the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.


Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.


A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.


Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.


Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.


Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).


Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.


Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.


Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries


Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.


Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Caffeine and Me


Here I am having a short break from endless studying while sipping my 3rd dose of coffee since morning when my mind started to wander off. What happens to the caffeine after consumption? What it does to my body? So where else to look for answers other then wikipedia (one of my favourite sites for all kinds of informations).

There's a whole mechanism of actions occurring in our body when we consume caffeine. Which is too long to be explain. But basically caffeine converts to Paraxanthine, Theobromine, and Theophyline. Which I don't know what the heck are all those. I've only heard of paraxanthine which causes lipolysis (degradation of fat); and according what it said in wikipedia, the other two causes vasodilation and relaxation of smooth muscles. But what strikes me for sure is that the molecular structure of caffiene as well as it's other derivatives looks so similar like adenine.

So as I read on, it said that caffeine having same molecule structure as adenosine and thus becomes a competative inhibitor for adenosine receptors on cell membrane surface. So how does this increase alertness? Well adenosine is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, so it makes us sleepy right? So I guess when caffeine attach to adenosine receptors instead of adenosine, it does not activates it. Something like dis-inhibiting the action of adenosine. And therefore we don't fall asleep.

And then there was something about caffeine stimulates the increase of cAMP.. yada yada yada..... to much to read. Well to those who had learned biochemistry, you would understand right... but if you have forgotten, let me give you a hint : adenylate cyclase..activation of protein kinase A..phosphorylation of other protein kinases.. ring a bell?? hahaha....

However we love coffee and tea, too much of caffeine is bad for the body. Overdose of it in a long period of time can cause caffeinism. It's something to do with being dependent to caffeine. Which in turn will cause some physical and mental disturbances : insomnia, headaches, nervousness, muscle twittching, anxiety and some others.
Also because caffeine stimulates more HCL production in the stomach, it causes paptic ulsers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (which I don't know what the heck is that, haven't learn about it yet).

So I urge to all others, and of course myself to drink coffee in moderate amount. It's all about moderation peeps....
